A Cutter's Creek Romance Series

Today, I'm bringing you a guest post from Christian Historical Romance author Kari Trumbo, who will introduce you to a new series she is writing with fellow authors Kit Morgan, Vivi Holt, and Annie Boone. Click here for a link to the series of novellas. Now here's Kari:

I am excited to announce the creation of the sweet historical world of Cutter’s Creek, Montana. Four authors have teamed up from across the globe to bring you stories of hope and love.

The authors started with a picture of a little red chapel in the hills and created the town around that sweet little building used for worship and weddings, funerals and festivals. It is a place of hiding and healing.

The first four novellas introduce you to the town, its lovely characters, and the Chapel. The characters you will meet may appear in future novels. There will be times the authors will all publish at once, and others when they publish a book singly, but each one will be carefully crafted for you to be transported to Cutter’s Creek and a new story of love, struggle, and romance. Some will be short, others will be full length novels.

The novellas in this series are threaded together by the beautiful little red chapel nestled in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains, at Cutter’s Creek, Montana. The heroine in each of these novellas finds solace inside the walls of the building and the God it was built to serve. The chapel is the center of town and is an important landmark to the residents of Cutter’s Creek. Its unusual red color has become a symbol that all are welcome. In the future, it won’t always take center stage, but it is in each of the introductory novellas.

Romance seems just out of reach for these couples. At times, it’s as though they aren’t meant to be together. Sometimes, they’re too stubborn to see what’s right before their eyes. Each has a lesson to learn before they get the prize of happiness in love. These stand-alone, happily ever after stories will melt the coldest heart and make the disenchanted believe in love again.

Writer Wednesday ~ Joyce DiPastena's Book Tour

Excerpt:
The heroine, Lucianna, was abandoned as a baby to a nunnery in medieval Venice. There she made friends with another young girl, named Elisabetta, who was sent there by her father to be educated. In this scene, the girls are 10 years old.

“How do you know your father’s name was Panfilo?” Elisabetta asked.

Lucianna shrugged.

“Why will you not tell me? I have kept no secrets from you.”

“It is not a secret,” Lucianna said quickly, stung by the hurt in Elisabetta’s voice. “It is only—special. I do not want it mocked.”

Elisabetta sat up, her dark eyes a-flash. “You think I would mock you?”

“Speak softer,” Lucianna hissed. She regretted that her words had aggrieved her friend.

She had grown to trust Elisabetta as she trusted her own heart. But— “It is not you I fear, it is Sister Maria Angela. If she came upon us and heard me, she would laugh, or perhaps she would scold and say I made it up and then she might call me devil child.

“That is what she did when she made me pick berries for the infirmary from the barberry bush and I called it an evil plant for pricking my fingers so badly that I could not stitch for a week.”

Elisabetta eyes widened in awe. “Is that not the one known as the Holy Thorn?”

Lucianna nodded with a sigh. “Because it was part of the crown of thorns borne by Our Lord upon the cross. But I was not thinking of that when it pricked me. Sister Maria Angela said I had spoken a blasphemy—”

“—and switched you,” Elisabetta finished before Lucianna could. Lucianna nodded again. Elisabetta pressed her lips together very tightly.

“I do not want her to say that my father’s name is wicked, too,” Lucianna said. “And so I must keep how I know to myself forever and ever.”

Meet the Author:

Joyce DiPastena dreamed of green medieval forests while growing up in the dusty copper mining town of Kearny, Arizona. She filled her medieval hunger by reading the books of Thomas B. Costain (where she fell in love with King Henry II of England), and later by attending the University of Arizona where she graduated with a degree in history, specializing in the Middle Ages. The university was also where she completed her first full-length novel...set, of course, in medieval England. Later, her fascination with Henry II led her to expand her research horizons to the far reaches of his “Angevin Empire” in France, which became the setting of her first published novel, Loyalty’s Web (a 2007 Whitney Award Finalist).

When she’s not writing, Joyce loves to read, play the piano, and spend time with her sister and friends. A highlight of her year is attending the annual Arizona Renaissance Festival. She lives with her two cats, Clio and Glinka Rimsky-Korsokov, in Mesa, Arizona.

Writer Wednesday - Anna del C. Dye

I'm beginning a new occasional feature here on the blog, which should have occurred last week. However, life happened, so we've begun "Writer Wednesday" today.

My first Writer for the series is Anna del C. Dye, who I have interviewed previously here and here. Anna writes YA Fantasy novels.

Let's get started:

1. Anna, you have a new book coming out, The Roilden Stones of Elf Mountain, which I'm spotlighting on this blog on June 13. How many books does that make that you've published?

Eight books, seven in my Elf's series and one children's book.

2. I understand you're re-launching your "Silent Warrior" trilogy. What made you want to take that task on?

I wanted to re-published the novels with Amazon and remove them from my old publisher's list. Besides, I never liked how the cover of book two, Trouble in the Elf City, turned out. It is a beautiful night scene that looked like a hot midday. We succeeded in getting the colors corrected, and now the cover of book two it is an inspiring midnight scene, and it looks more like the original.

3. Did you re-write anything in these books?

I edited them, and they look awesome, my editor says. I have learned so much since my husband and I published The Elf and the Princess that I wanted to refresh the books and make them shine. They so deserve it. :)

4. When is the re-launch taking place? Are you having a party for readers?

It started Monday, May 19, and will go on for a week. I am having a blog tour and highlights everywhere. There are a lot of wonderful people helping me with this effort.

5. What do you do in your leisure time (that's supposing you have any)?

I don't have time for anything, but once in a while I watch a movie. I just watched The Hobbit Two last night. Love it. I can't get enough of Tolkien's masterpieces.
